I have waited for this game for quite a while! I was very excited when a release date had been given!The game has some decent dialogue, although I couldn't get much of a feel for the characters in the few conversations there were. The strongest thing about this game was the soundtrack! It was super good, and I do recommend you give it a listen! It made the time playing a little less boring. The game mechanic of "the hole" is a lot of fun the first 3 stages, and I do like that there were small puzzles and added "abilities" in some stages but... After a little while it began to get a little boring...That being said the game is incredibly short, compared to how much you pay for it. I had hoped for a little more, since the story seems really rushed. I'm sad to say that I don't think the ammount of time and the quality of the game are worth the price.TL;DR: the game is fun and sort of relaxing, but way too short. If you want to buy it, go ahead! But I'd recommend getting it in a sale, if you want your money well spent.... I was looking forward to this game but was dissapointed.The story is extremely grating, a bunch of animals saying 'lol' at each other in bippy-boop-boop text boxes. If you were expecting something meaningful or something funny you'll get neither.The gameplay is trivial, just pick up the next biggest thing with the hole. Nothing like Katamari where you'll want to go back to earlier levels and do a better job or unlock this thing or that.I know the creator worked hard on it, but that's not enough for me to recommend such a slight experience to anyone.. It's a cute game, but $13 for 90 minutes of fun polygons bouncing into a hole feels like a bit much.. Much like a doughnut, this quirky charming game is a sweet little treat that you didn't expect to make you so happy and leave you smiling for the rest of the day. Pros:-Beautiful art style-Unique and catchy soundtrack-Addicting and satisfying gameplay-Hilarious writing-Gameplay that manages to be simple yet stays fresh as the story goes on. Cons:-I wish there was a restart level button in the pause menu, because twice I ran into minor glitches that kept me from completing the level.. Donut County is a short 3 hour-or-so narrative puzzle game. The top review at the time of writing this suggests some kind of bait and switch and that the game is too expensive (it's $12?????????). Ignore that. Donut County is charming. It's filled with upbeat music and a bright, polygonal art style that creates a world filled with anthropomorphic characters across more puzzle vignettes than I expected there to be in a short game. The large cast has little time spent with any one supporting character, but their brief dialogue and actions evokes an eccentricity and history to an eclectic small town and a communtiy with history.A deeper, critical reading of Donut County cannot separate the warm and colorful final product from its early missteps with Hopi appropriation and a clumsy colonialism metaphor, but Donut County is more than a reskin of this earlier problematic project.It's a short game, but it's priced accordingly and is well-paced, tutorializing its mechanics throughout the span of the game leading up to a convention-breaking and memorable finale, if one a bit more difficult and demanding than the rest of the game has prepared you for.. Fun for about an hour. Terrible puzzler as there's no puzzle. The art is great. The story is cute, but this game desperately needs a puzzle mode and a sandbox for builders for players to make and share their own levels with the content. I had hoped that this would be an inverted version of Katamari Damacy, my favorite game series of all time, but it's not. It's a half-baked mechanic with a nice story that never saw fit development into a full-fledged experience. At $10 the sting isn't too bad, but I wouldn't recommend anyone pick this up for more than $1-2.. A wonderful, whimsical, charming puzzle game about being a big fat hole in the floor.Inventive, innovative and interesting puzzles populate the plethora of playable places.The concept is awesome and it executed really well, with brilliant sound and art direction (the colour palette is amazing) as well as great levels and a super fun little narrative. Definitely reccomend. Support indie!. I tried to fill the gaping hole inside of me with video games, but this game taught me to fill that hole with other people's objects instead.. The hole is the katamari shaped hole in your heart. fill it with all the♥♥♥♥♥♥in this game and experience a charming story with funny writing while you're at it. folks the game is good
